Taste the Tropics

The Exotic Fruit Tasting at Cape Trib Farm offers a chance to taste 60 unique tropical fruits, a truly mouth-watering and healthy experience. Tours run daily at 2pm. On a hot day, stop by Daintree Ice Cream Co. or  Floravilla for refreshing ice cream made from local ingredients.

The Daintree Tea Farm is a must-visit for tea lovers, tea can be purchased at the roadside stand. Stock up your pantry at the Daintree Fan Palm Organic Wholefood Store. You can also grab groceries at Mason Café, The Friendly Grocer, and Daintree Rainforest Fuel & Store.

Great Barrier Reef & Swimming

Ocean Safari offers unforgettable half-day snorkeling adventures to the pristine Mackay Reef, part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Snorkel with Green Sea Turtles, discover Nemo, or relax in the sun aboard our safe and comfortable vessel. Enjoy two hours of snorkeling in small groups, immersing yourself in tropical paradise. Tours run daily, with pickups from the campground.

Swimming at the beach is not recommended due to saltwater crocodiles, but safe swimming is available at Masons Swimming Hole just across the road from the campground. The crystal-clear creek is perfect for spotting turtles and jungle perch. Plus, there’s a café at the swimming hole where you can enjoy a picnic or grab an ice-cold beer!

Walking Tracks

The Daintree Rainforest is Australia’s largest tropical rainforest, offering miles of trails to explore. Our “Walks in the Daintree” booklets, available when booking online, are a great guide to the area’s hikes, with many trails accessible from the campground. For families, the nearby Dubuji Boardwalk is a perfect choice, while those seeking a challenge can tackle Mt Sorrow.

For a guided experience, visit the Daintree Discovery Centre, open daily from 9 am to 5 pm, with no booking required. It features a fantastic children’s audio tour. Other guided tours include waterfall hikes with Daintree Experience, night walks with Jungle Escapes, and cultural walks with Walkabout Cultural Tours.

Cape Trib Horse Rides

Saddle up and ride the beach with Cape Trib Horse Rides! Experience the breathtaking beauty of the Daintree Rainforest and Myall Beach on horseback. With two rides available each day, you’ll journey through lush rainforest, get a great photo opportunity on the  beach and might even spot some local wildlife. No previous riding experience is necessary, and children aged 10-14 are welcome to join as long as they are accompanied by an adult. Pickup is available directly from the campground.

Treetop Adventures

Glide through the treetops on nine ziplines, ranging from 15 to 130 meters, and enjoy breathtaking views as you soar up to 15 meters above the ground. Walk along timber walkways and explore the beauty of the rainforest from above.

This exciting 2-hour guided tour is perfect for families, with ages 3 and up welcome to join in the fun! It’s a great adventure for kids and adults alike.

Wildlife Tours

Embark on an exciting Croc Tour through the Daintree and Cape Tribulation region! Cruise along the picturesque rivers and wetlands, where you’ll have the chance to spot saltwater crocodiles in their natural habitat.  Keep your camera ready as you may encounter not only crocs, but also a variety of birdlife and other native animals. It’s an unforgettable adventure for the whole family!

The closest tour to the campground Cape Trib Cruises. Tours run daily and can be easily booked at our office on arrival.Other great wildlife tours we recommend are Solar Whisper (located at the Daintree Ferry) & Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures (located north of Cairns)

4wd & Fishing

The Bloomfield Track, one of Australia’s iconic drives, stretches from Cape Tribulation to Cooktown. If you have a 4WD, take a day trip along the track to explore the Far North. No 4WD? Guided tours with Far North Escapes are available.

For fishing, handline from the estuary or beach at the campground. Bait, ice, fishing rods, and tackle are available at reception. Please call ahead if you’re bringing a boat. Didn’t catch anything on your way? Stop by Hook-A-Barra on the way home—you might just reel in that barra!
